The history version needs correction. I doubt S. Rajaratnam or Hindu Board of Education played any role there for Kokuvil HIndu College. Can you elaborate his relevance to Kokuvil Hindu College?
Hindu Board of Education was founded by President Sir Ponnambalam Ramanathan and Secreatary Sir W. Duraiswamy in 1922(?). S. Rajaratnams role was much later. But 3 decades earlier Jaffna Hindu College and Affliated Schools were founded by the Saiva Paripalana Sabha in 1890 to be precise. To my knowledge this is the begining of Hindu Education in Jaffna. ONly after Jaffna Hindu College, Arumuga Navalar, Sir Ponnambalam ramanthan, Sir W. Duraiswamt does any other individual comes as far as Hindu education in Jaffna goes. |
